SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 10, 2016) - SPYRUS® today announced the world's first 1 TB high-capacity Windows To Go SSD live drives on hardware platforms certified by Microsoft (
SPYRUS devices enable immediate, economical, low-friction deployment of highly secure, high-capacity Windows 10 computing environments -- fully provisioned and fully functional within hours vs. weeks for traditional approaches. Organizations gain new agility to provision (and decommission) contractors, remote workers and telecommuters with a complete operating environment that includes global end-point support securely and centrally managed by the SPYRUS Enterprise Management System (SEMS™). The SPYRUS products have all successfully passed a battery of stringent MILSPEC 810 and related environmental and security requirements.
"Technical leadership, hardware security, onboard FIPS 140-2 Level 3 hardware security module with PKI capabilities, ultra-high performance, and the new features of Windows 10 make SPYRUS 1 TB drives the choice for high-capacity Windows To Go platforms," said Tom Dickens, SPYRUS COO. "Our customers have told us that by deploying these new high-capacity drives, they will realize expanded use cases to use Windows To Go for video capture and surveillance systems and other large memory capacity computing projects. Other use cases include Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations scenarios, entertainment industry content development and distribution, and government agencies with high data volume requirements."
With the addition of the 1 TB drive for Windows 10, SPYRUS's family of high-capacity live drives provide contractors, remote workers, travelers, and telecommuters with a complete operating environment that includes extensive storage capacity for development tools and large datasets that creates cryptographically secure "personal cloud-like" data centers in their hands . The new high capacity drives retain all the capabilities of their widely acclaimed smaller capacity versions and feature superior security defense of the operating system, documents, and identity credentials from tampering, cyber and malware attacks, or physical theft. SPYRUS WTG devices cover a range of layered hardware and software encryption configurations depending on the particular model.
The family of new 1 TB high-capacity Windows 10 drives maintains compatibility with the optional SEMS device management system. With SEMS device management, enterprise administrators can centrally register, block/unblock, revoke, set policies, audit, and "kill" SPYRUS Windows To Go drives wherever they are located. This is of particular value for an enterprise mobile user computing environment, in which SPYRUS offers the additional managed protection for networks and applications through SPYRUS WorkSafe and WorkSafe Pro Windows To Go drives with integrated PKI smart cards for two-factor authentication to access corporate communications and computing assets. Availability is planned for second quarter 2016.
